Solutions Snowball Activity

This activity is great for helping participants to start to think creatively and about incremental change. It involves writing, crumpling, tossing, and thinking.

Materials you will need:
A piece of paper for each participant. It works best with a small square (around 5 in on a side.) Origami paper works well.

Steps:

Steps are listed on the slide. A few tips are:

  1. As students how old they will be in 20 years.
  2. Ask them to think of a problem they’d like to see gone completely.
  3. Get a basket or box to collect the balls. Pass it around if you want to keep thigs calmer.
  4. Focus on incremental change, any small thing a person could do.
  5. Don’t allow too much time. Keep it moving quickly to keep them from overthinking.
  6. Stop after a few rounds or when they’ve gotten the idea.
