Directions

ADAPTABLE 4-STEP DIRECTIONS FOR WORKING WITH  ANY AGE ANYWHERE

Then follow the process below. 

COLLECT PROJECT SUPPLIES. 

  • 1 Piece of cloth  approximately 8.5×11 in. or 22×28 cm. for each participant. Use paper if cloth is not available. 
  • Length of ribbon, string, or similar product long enough to attach all banners to it, approximately 1 ft. or 30 cm. per banner.
  • Materials for writing and decorating — pens, markers, paints, etc.

What is the Dreamline Global Program?

  1. Show demo Dreamline if you have supplies kit or show banners at dreamline.org/dreams/col. Note locations. 
  2. Display map of Dreamline sites. Explore. VIEW MAP.

What matters to you?

  1. Talk about Banners on Demo Dreamline.
    Which ones do you like? Why?
  2. Go to dreamline.org/dreams/col  and click on Banners to see maps, details, and audio recordings OR us QR codes on physical Demo Dreamline. 

What is your dream to share with the world?

  1. Have students do writing or brainstorming.
  2. Hand out writing or drawing supplies and 22×28 cm / 8.5×11 in cloth (or paper.)
  3. Each student makes a vertical Banner expressing their dream to share with the world.

How are connected dreams stronger?

  1. Attach the Dream Banners to the line by sewing, stapling, or using clips.
  2. For each line create and attach a signage Banner(s) including your group’s name, location and dreamline.org.  Use Printable Signage Banner when possible. DOWNLOAD
  3. Display in common area.  Read each others’ dreams.
  4. Discuss and celebrate, record and share with Dreamline when possible.

FAQ

Dreamline is for any adult-led group of students anywhere in the world in any language.

Most participants are K-12 students with the largest group in upper elementary and middle years, but Dreamline participants are as young as 3 and as old as 70.

  1. Group leaders register with Dreamline and get access to program resources.
  2. Student groups create Dream Banners.
  3. Groups are invited to participate in global sharing through publication and events. 

3 or more standard class periods (45 minutes) or 90 minutes as a workshop.

As project in school or out-of-school.
In school in Language Arts, Social Studies, Community Time, or Art.

Out of school in after-school programs, summer programs, libraries, clubs or other organizations.

Dreamline is free for all teachers or group leaders who register.

Yes. Dreamline develops empathy, belonging, agency, and global awareness.

It also develops reading, writing, visual communication, collaboration, civic engagement, geography, and Social-Emotional Learning skills.

Yes. Many all-organization programs have been very successful in promoting community between ages and with parents.

Dream Banners can be completed any time. If you complete them by the end of April your group can participate in the year-end festival in May.
