Hughes Dream Poem Activities & Discussion

This handout features three poems of Langston Hughes which are focused on dreams with activity or discussion ideas for each one. The poetry is appropriate for all ages, though the lesson prompts are geared for middle school or older.  The two poems “Dream Keeper” and “Hold Fast to Dreams” are about the importance of dreams. The poem “Daybreak in Alabama” is an example of a dream.
